Check the key

If you have received the decryption key from your SAP® administrator, you can check it. This check makes sure that the key matches the encrypted data. Checking the key is optional.

 

Follow the steps described below:

1. In the Enter key tab copy the key you have received from your SAP® administrator into the Please enter the key field.
2. In the Check the key (optional) area click the Browse button to select the protocol file that was generated during the extraction of the encrypted data. In the Request ID from protocol file and Data Request name from protocol file lines the corresponding information from the protocol file is shown.

• If the check was successful, i.e. if the Request IDThe Request ID is a unique identifier that is assigned to a process in the SAP® system. Each time you run a SmartExporter data extraction a Request ID is generated. The SAP® administrator needs this ID to generate a key for the decryption. Note that if you run a Data Request several times, for each run a separate Request ID is generated. from the key matches the Request ID from the protocol file, a corresponding message in green font color will be shown below. If this is the case, you can switch to the Decrypt data tab and continue to decrypt the data.
• If the check failed, i.e. if the Request ID from the key does not match the Request ID from the protocol file, a corresponding message in red font color will be shown below. In this case contact your SAP® administrator.
