Importing from QuickBooks

Working Papers is able to import the full trial balance and general ledger details from QuickBooks files. The import method depends on the version of QuickBooks that you are using. Some versions can import directly from QuickBooks into Working Papers, some require the use of the CaseWare QuickBooks Export Utility, while others require you to create a QuickBooks Online copy of the company file.

The table below contains the requirements for each version import:

Notes:

Imports will fail if you have more than one version of Quickbooks installed on your system. This issue also affects the Quickbooks Export Utility and Cloud Import Utility. We suggest removing older copies of Quickbooks if they are no longer required.
Due to country variations in QuickBooks, some versions include a country designation as part of the version number. If there is not a separate country version listed, assume the version number applies to all countries.
Canadian users have an option to import GIFI codes that must be checked. This option is unchecked for other regions.
