SmartExporter Data Privacy Decrypt - Introduction

SmartExporter Data Privacy Decrypt allows you to decrypt data that was encrypted and extracted using the SmartExporter Data Privacy functionality.

If you have access to the SAP® system and have the necessary authorizations, you can run the data decryption completely in SAP® without any help from third parties.

If you do not have access to the SAP® system or do not have the necessary authorizations in the SAP® system, you can use the Windows tool SmartExporter Data Privacy Decrypt to decrypt the data.

The following prerequisites have to be met to be able to use the Windows tool for the decryption:

  1. The Windows tool SmartExporter Data Privacy Decrypt has to be installed.
  2. It is a prerequisite that the encrypted data has CSV, CSV with header or SAP® AIS format.
  3. You need the protocol file which was generated during the extraction of the encrypted data. This protocol file contains the so-called Request IDClosed The Request ID is a unique identifier that is assigned to a process in the SAP® system. Each time you run a SmartExporter data extraction a Request ID is generated. The SAP® administrator needs this ID to generate a key for the decryption. Note that if you run a Data Request several times, for each run a separate Request ID is generated., which the SAP® administrator requires to generate a decryption key for you.

If all these requirements are met, please perform the following steps:

  1. Request the key
  2. Check the key
  3. Decrypt and save data
