Additions Dialog

Use this dialog to create custom XBRL scenarios or custom XBRL segments. For each custom XBRL element to be created, define the individual XML attributes for it.

To create a custom scenario or custom segment:

If the Additions dialog is not open, in Design mode, click Tools | XBRL | Global Settings, and then select the version of XBRL. The XBRL Global Settings dialog opens.

Do one of the following:

  • To create a custom scenario, click Custom beside Scenario.
  • To create a custom segment, click Advanced.

In the Additions dialog that opens, click Add to create a custom element and complete the following fields.

Namespace

Provide the namespace URI of which this element is a member. This value represents the Element Namespace.

Element name

Enter a name for this element. Click to access the Calculation Editor and create a calculation.

Attributes

Click the Add button in this area to create a new attribute for this element. The Attribute Name dialog opens.

Type the name of the property to add and click OK. The dialog closes allowing the value to be entered. 

Interpret content as QName

When creating or editing dimensional content, it may be necessary to apply a namespace to the content as well, resulting in QName content.

Select this checkbox to enable the content Namespace field.

Namespace

Specify a content Namespace in addition to the element Namespace above.

Content

Type the content that will appear for this element. Click to access the Calculation Editor and create a calculation.
