Merging and Separating Table Squares

Merging Table Squares

Procedure

With table squares highlighted, on the Home tab, click Table | Merge Squares, or right-click and select Merge Table Squares.

Results

The selected squares' contents concatenate and center across the range of cells selected.

Note: When cells are merged, any existing column repeats and column breaks set in the Table Properties dialog's Wide Table tab are removed.

Separating Table Squares

Procedure

With table squares highlighted, on the Home tab, click Table | Merge Squares, or right-click and select Unmerge Table Squares.

Results

The contents of the merged cells display in the leftmost square selected.

Note: Paragraphs in the leftmost square of the merge will show as long as one square of the merge is visible.
