Spell Checker Dialog

This dialog sets the rules used to check spelling. Spell checking is enabled by default in CaseView 2012 and higher versions.

Dictionaries

Select parameters for the dictionary to be used during a spell check.

Language

Select the type of dictionary to be used as the main dictionary during a spell check.

Custom Dictionary

If you use words that are not in the main dictionary, you can add them to the custom dictionary to check their spelling. During a spell check, the word is listed only if it is misspelled. Type the name and path of a custom dictionary or click Dictionaries to locate an existing dictionary file. When you press Add Word for the first time, the program automatically creates a file with the file name CUST.lex and places the word in this file.

Ignore

Select occurrences of words you want to ignore during a spell check.

Words with numbers

Ignores words with numbers during a spell check.

Words in Uppercase

Ignores words in uppercase letters during a spell check.

Options

Automatically Suggest

Only check paragraphs that are not skipped

During a spell check, this option ignores paragraphs that are set to skip when printing.

Downloading and Installing a Hunspell Dictionary

Working Papers provides the ability to download new spell check dictionaries for different languages from the OpenOffice web site to be included in CaseView. If you also wish to use the hyphenation options for your language, you must also download the hyphenation file.

  1. Browse to the OpenOffice extension repository to download the dictionary for the language you wish to use.

Note: This file may have an .oxt extension but it is in ZIP format and can be uncompressed using commonly available archiving software.

  1. Unzip the file downloaded from OpenOffice extension repository into a separate directory and ensure that *.dic and *.aff files are present.
  2. Verify that a Dictionaries sub-folder exists by browsing to the folder where Working Papers is installed. If the Dictionaries sub-folder does not exist, create it.
  3. Copy the *.dic and *.aff files from the uncompressed directory into the Working Papers Dictionaries directory.

Note: Ensure that the *.dic and *.aff files follow the file name conventions in your Working Papers cwlang.xml file.

  1. In CaseView, go to Tools | Options | Spell Checking | Language.
  2. Check that the dictionary you installed is listed in the Language drop-down list.
