To merge/separate table squares
To merge table squares
- Highlight the table squares to be merged. CaseView allows you to merge any number of horizontal continuous squares.
- On the Table menu, select Merge Squares. The selected squares' contents concatenate and center across the range of cells selected.
Note
- When cells are merged, any existing column repeats and column breaks set in the Table Properties dialog's Wide Table tab are removed.
To separate table squares
- Highlight the merged squares.
- On the Table menu, select Unmerge Squares. The contents of the merged cells display in the leftmost square selected.
Show/Hide Behavior
The Show/Hide behaviour for merged table squares has changed for 2011. If a table contains merged table squares such as headers that span more than one column, the previous behavior was to hide the merged squares when the leftmost column was hidden. Now, if any column that the merged table square spans is visible, the merged square is displayed.
