Introduction to the SmartExporter SAP® components
To enable the communication between the SmartExporter Windows client and the SAP® system, you have to decide which of the methods of data extraction you want to use. Then you have to adjust and configure the SAP® system as described in the respective documentation.
To use the full scope of SmartExporter functionality the installation of the SmartExporter SAP® components is required. Therefore it is recommended to use the SmartExporter SAP® components.
To be able to use the SmartExporter SAP® components you have to implement the corresponding transport requests or – as an alternative – the Add-On in your SAP® system and you have to make some further adjustments. The Add-On is certified by the SAP SE, see the certificate in the 'SmartExporter SAP Components\AddOn\SAPCertificate' directory on the SAP Components CD or in the 'SAP Components\SmartExporter SAP Components\AddOn\SAPCertificate’ directory in the download package.
If you want to use SmartExporter in online mode, you also have to assign certain SAP® authorizations to the SAP® users the SmartExporter Windows client uses to access the SAP® system. For the installation and configuration an administrator or a user with certain authorizations is required.
